Activities and Attractions in Vernon

The city is surrounded by three lakes and beautiful expanses of wild grasslands and Douglas fir trees, making it a wonderful sight to see year-round. In the winter, many snow sport enthusiasts make their way into the city for the famous fresh powder at Silver Star Mountain Resort, where snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling are very popular. Hiking is also a great activity during the warmer months, and there are numerous trails to choose from, including those on Turtle Mountain and near the Kalamalka Lookout.
Hanging out on Okanagan Lake is another major pastime here, and you can spend your day exploring it on the Spirit of the Okanagan, a cruise ship that serves up great food and drinks.
