Angus is a community contained within the borders of Markham, Ontario. As of the 2011 census, the community had about 2,600 residents, but the population was growing quickly with the building of new subdivisions. The area was first settled around 1794 by 75 German families who moved from the state of New York, USA. By 1872, the village was incorporated. Agriculture and lumber industries spurred rapid growth of the area. Today, Angus is known as a bedroom community and a center of high-tech industries. Once you get unpacked and settled into your new home or apartment, you may wish to experience some of the culture around Angus. There are several local performing arts groups, including the Markham Youth Theatre and the Unionville Theatre Company. These performance groups offer musicals and plays throughout the year at small venues such as the Markham Little Theatre.
Angus also provides many opportunities to get outside and enjoy the abundant natural resources. The community is just a short drive from Lake Erie where you can go fishing, jet skiing, parasailing, boating or diving. During the wintertime, sports such as ice fishing and snowmobiling are popular along the Lake Erie shore. German Mills Settlers Park is one of many public parks and includes a pond, a stream, sports fields and hiking trails.
With reliable movers taking charge of the packing, loading and transportation of your belongings, you will have some extra time to relax. You can also use this extra time to get to know your new neighborhood and the people who live next door. Our agents aim to lower your stress level and help your move to go as smoothly as possible because our priority is your satisfaction. Contact us at North American Van Lines today to get a free estimate for moving services to Angus.
